Why Choose HCC?
Founded in 1965, Haywood Community College continues to offer a different array of affordable programs with small class sizes so students receive the personalized attention they deserve. Aside from classroom instruction, students have the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning experiences through their program and student clubs.
Part of the North Carolina Community College System, HCC is an open-door institution and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Tucked away in the Great Smoky Mountains, the campus has been recognized with Tree Campus USA designation by the Arbor Day Foundation and is a designated arboretum.
The HCC campus is open to the general public during operating hours. Community members often enjoy the College’s walking trails, millpond, gardens, disc golf course, library and more.
