If you are interested in a career in law enforcement, our Criminal Justice Technology program is for you. This program will not only prepare you for law enforcement, but also a career at correctional facilities, as a Private Investigator, or being a part of a Crime Scene Investigative team.

Students will not only learn the basics of law enforcement, but will also focus on local, state, and federal law enforcement, judicial processes, corrections, and security services. Emphasis is on criminal justice systems, criminology, juvenile justice, criminal and constitutional law, investigative principles, ethics, and community relations will also be a key focus area.  

Careers:

Employment opportunities exist in a variety of local, state, and federal law enforcement, corrections, and security fields.  Careers available from the Criminal Justice Technology curriculum help protect our communities from crime and other sources of harm like natural disasters. They help us receive fair treatment and seek justice when we’ve been wronged.

  • Private Investigator

Our Program:

At HCC, we take this program to the next level. By offering a two-year degree, you will not only be prepared to enter the workforce immediately, but also have the opportunity of having your Criminal Justice Technology degree credits transfer to a four-year institution to build upon your education and continue pursuing your Bachelor’s degree.

Outside of the classroom students can become a part of the American Criminal Justice Association, Lambada Alpha Epsilon which has nationwide chapters and is dedicated to the support of college students and instructors. As part of Region 5, our students have the opportunity to compete nationally and regionally, showcasing their knowledge and skills with their peers. With the support of the HCC Foundation, students are able to participate in numerous events for little or no cost.

Additional program information:

  • Registration for fall and spring start times are available
  • Students with completed BLET credit receive 16 credit hours at NO classes (about 5 classes)
  • Complete your Criminal Justice Technology degree in two years
  • Our staff has over 30 combined years of experience and offers small class sizes to provide a more personalized experience.
  • Learn hands-on techniques
  • If you are interested in a career in law enforcement, you must be age 21 to apply for a job in that field
